This Monday’s brochure from the Attic is from 2001-02 season. What’s new for the season! Dopplemayr Quad is replacing the double chair. The brochure predates my first visit to this Eastern Ontario ski area by two years. According to the map, they were two new quad chairs in 2001-02. Not sure if they were both installed in the same season, maybe someone can tell Ski Mad World?
Calabogie Peaks is located “One hour west of Ottawa” nestled near the hamlet of Calabogie in the Ottawa Valley remote rural setting between the towns Renfrew and Arnprior.
Premier Waterfront resort? Enough for a Ottawa wedding which had Prince, the artist, as a guest a few years ago.
Transportation available from: Kanata, Arnprior, Renfrew, Cobden, Pembroke on Holidays & Saturday.
Resort Statistics: 760 vertical ft – 18 runs. 35% Beginner – 23% Intermediate – 42% Advanced – 95% Snowmaking coverage. Longest Run Ole K & P 2 km.

I thought the Lakeview quad (up Whistlin’ Patty) came first…
Calabogie Peaks has the highest vertical drop for a **non-private** resort. Georgian Peaks near Collingwood has 820′ of vertical drop. If I remember correctly, I believe the tech events of the Canadian Championships were at Georgian Peaks sometime in the 90′s on the FIS homologated Minute Mile run. Georgian Peaks is a regular stop on the GMC Cup tour.
Possibly came one year prior. I believe that’s what I heard one of the guy from the Masters say this season.

The middle lift used to be a very long t-bar. what a leg-burner that was! Calabogie has great terrain, too bad they don’t get more snow…
