Mad River Glen – A Skiing Legend
A brochure for 1979-80.
Before you asked the question why I’m offering repeat from areas that have already featured, the answer is quiet simple. I’ve been really busy at work and had little time to go back to the Attic to pick something new that hasn’t been scanned yet. That should change once we get into mid-May.
A few things about what is in forefront of this brochure. Trees, Ski School, Kids, Moguls and … the Double chairlift. Not one picture of the Single chair. Mind you, in 1980, there were still a few singles lifts still operational in the East at places like Stowe and Tremblant and they were mostly seen as old relics from the past. The presentation of that single is what makes the ski area unique now. At least one of the pictures from the brochure was still used in 1995.
What was a cost for a weekend all day ticket back in 1979-80 at MRG? $17.50 for Adults, $14 for Juniors (10-17) & Seniors and $8.50 for Kids under 10.
