Big winds, rain and flooding came around some parts of the East yesterday. Washing out a few things including Wildcat and Sutton’s hopes to reopen in May.
Sun and warm temps are forecasted for the weekend. Similar to 2008, the similar late season snow and relatively cold Spring as extended the season for more than a few (ski areas and skiers).
If I wouldn’t be so busy, I would check out my old post to see how many usually make this far and with what kind of conditions. Here is the last seven Eastern Liftserved areas (weekends only, except Kmart and the Loaf).
The small Laurentian hill north of Montreal is open this weekend and aiming to reach May 22nd. $25 tix online when bought one day prior. Québec’s long season ski area.
Northern Vermont and almost in Canada ski area has the Metro, Jet, Carpet are spinning today servicing 30 trail today. Tram, Flyer and Bonnie are scheduled to reopen for the weekend. Deal is that for $69pp/pn will get the lodging at the Tram Haus Lodge and lift tickets.
Southern NoVT ski areas Spring tradition continues this weekend. Super Bravo Express Quad and Heaven’s Gate will spin. Saturday tix are $49 or 2 for 1 if you carry a seasonpass from elsewhere. If you fill the online survey (click link above), you get a Free tix for Sunday.
The Central Vermont ski area that used to be the reference in long season and late season skiing into June. It’s no longer the case, but they are still around for this May. Superstar quad is servicing 7 trails: Superstar and it’s neighbours. Adults Lift tix are $49. Killington is one of two still offering Daily skiing.
Saddleback’s plans to have 45 trails open for $29. I still haven’t found a way to make it out to Rangeley.
The new King of Spring is reporting 105 trails open this morning and open daily. Adults tix are $49. They still planning the Ski and Tee Weekend on May 14th and 15th.
Not impossible, but I may even makes my own May turns in the next few days. Unfortunately right now, I only have Sunday off.
So these are your options for this weekend, not sure how many will be open the following weekend. Of course, there will still be free skiing in the East the following week, but it might not be liftserved.
