From one summer skiing volcano in the North America to a summer skiing volcano in South America. Another place to ski our summer is in Chile. One of the lesser known ski area, Centro de ski Pucón is located 800km south of Santiago on the Northern slopes of Villarrica Volcano. An old ski area predated this one, but it was destroyed in the 1948 eruption. Lifts and slopes where rebuild a few degrees to the North. Villarrica is one of the most active volcano in the region.
The skiing of the lift-served slopes is pretty ordinary, unless you consider that you are skiing on a smoking volcano. The lift 5 sometimes opens late in the season, but you can’t necessarily count on it.
Many activities to do in the vicinity of the town of Pucón which definitely include Hot Springs.
This is the Mapa de Pistas from 2010.
